Jerry Meral's Remarks Won't Die
During a meeting that included C-WIN's own Tom Stokely, Jerry Meral, Deputy Director of the state Natural Resources Agency, has stated that Governor Brown's water plan, known as the BDCP, is not about restoring the Delta and that the Delta cannot be saved. This has become a very controversial statement. The BDCP, which stands for Bay-Delta Conservation Plan, is supposed to be about saving and protecting the Delta. The BDCP's own website states that "The heart of the BDCP is a long-term conservation strategy that sets forth actions needed for a healthy Delta," which directly clashes with Meral's comments.
